Sundays, closures and opening-hours culture shock

Turned up to do my week's errands and the entire town was shut. Coming from a 24/7 city this has been a genuine adjustment. How do you organise life around local opening hours without constantly getting caught out?

Sundays are sacred and shut where I am. The Saturday big-shop became a survival skill — miss it and you're living on whatever's in the cupboard until Monday.

I keep a running "buy before the weekend" list on my phone now. Ran out of coffee on a Sunday exactly once and never again.

Pharmacies usually rotate an on-duty one for emergencies even when the rest are shut — worth finding out how to check which one before you need it at midnight.

Midday lunch closures caught me out in smaller towns — offices and shops shutting for a couple of hours. Plan your admin around them or you'll stand at a locked door.

Weekend big-shop + buy-before-the-weekend list + on-duty pharmacy. My 24/7 brain is slowly recalibrating. Thanks all.
