Coworking membership vs cafés vs home — what's your actual setup?

I keep flip-flopping. Coworking is great for focus and meeting people but eats into the budget. Cafés are cheaper but the wifi and noise are a lottery. Home is free but I go slightly feral by Thursday. What's your real, sustainable setup once the novelty wears off — not the Instagram version?

Landed on a hybrid — coworking three days, home two. Keeps the budget sane and the cabin fever manageable without going all-in on either.

Cafés are a lottery, agreed. The wifi has ruined more productive days than it’s ever saved me money on.

Coworking won for me specifically because of the built-in structure of getting dressed and leaving the flat — the desk itself was almost beside the point.

Home only for me, but I force a fifteen-minute walk before starting, basically a fake commute. Cheap version of the same psychological trick without the membership fee.

OP here — thanks all, landed on a version of Sofia’s fake-commute idea plus one coworking day a week. Feels like the actual sustainable middle ground I was after.

Mild pushback on the coworking-budget concern — it’s paid for itself for me several times over just through the networking. Met two clients there directly. Depends heavily on your line of work though.

Following, currently very much in the feral-by-Thursday camp myself.
