Digital nomad visas — has anyone actually gone through the process?

For those of you working remotely for clients or an employer elsewhere — how many of you went through an actual digital nomad visa process versus just travelling on tourist entries for shorter stints? Not fishing for anything specific, just trying to get a realistic sense of what's common, since it seems to depend a lot on how long you're actually staying.
