Slowmad vs fast travel — I burned out doing a country a month

My first year I did twelve countries and I have almost no real memories of any of them — just airports and unpacking. This year I've stayed put three months at a time and I'm happier, healthier, and weirdly getting more work done. Anyone else make the switch to slow travel, and what changed for you?

Made the same switch and specifically noticed the constant unpacking exhaustion disappear once I slowed down. Didn’t expect that specific thing to be the biggest relief.

following, currently still deep in the fast-travel burnout phase myself

Agreed, but worth being honest that slower travel does mean seeing fewer places overall — it’s a genuine trade-off, not a pure upgrade over fast travel.
