Anyone had their foreign qualifications NOT recognized? What did you do?

Just found out my degree isn't automatically recognised for the licensing I need here, which wasn't on my radar at all when I was planning this move. For anyone who's hit this โ€” what was the actual path forward, roughly?

Olena and Chinedu, thank you, this is much more concrete than anything I'd found. The bridging course I mentioned starts in October. Asking for a meeting rather than appealing is a good tip.

My nursing degree from the Philippines was only partly recognised here, so I'm studying again while working as a caregiver. It stung at first, honestly. But the clinical placements here have taught me things my first degree never covered, so I've made my peace with it. It'll be worth it.

Viktor, a colleague of mine appealed and won, but it took most of a year. Worth it for him, because the alternative was retraining from scratch.

Research is different. Nobody asked for formal recognition of my doctorate, only for the diploma itself. Regulated professions are a completely different world.
