Probation periods and notice were both longer than I expected here — great for security, worth knowing before you sign if you might move again soon.
Get the whole offer in the written contract, not just the verbal chat. The friendly verbal promises are worth exactly what's written down.
Employment protections are genuinely strong in a lot of places — don't sign away things you don't need to. The Employment Rights section is worth a read before you sign, so you know what's normal vs what you're giving up.
Part-time and pro-rata rules caught me out — holiday and benefits worked differently than I assumed for reduced hours. Ask specifically if you're not full-time.
