Pets make a flat into a home faster than any furniture. Welcome to the forum's growing collection of rescue cats, Mira.
I didn't plan to get a pet in Sweden. I live alone, my contract is temporary, and I was very sensible about all of that for eight months. Then a colleague mentioned that a shelter near Uppsala had too many cats, and I went "just to look".
Her name is Mira. She's four years old, grey, very dignified, and she has changed my life here more than I expected. My flat feels like a home now, I have a reason to come back at a normal hour, and I've talked to more neighbours in two months because of her than in the eight months before.
Did anyone else adopt a local rescue after moving? How did you handle the practical side, like your lease, your contract and what happens if you move again? And did it change how settled you felt?
