Flying a nervous dog long-haul — how did it go?

Chose the earliest, coolest flight of the day specifically for a nervous dog. Less overall stress across the whole journey than a later, hotter option would’ve been.

Following, our flight is booked and I’m already anxious on her behalf.

Went better than I feared, honestly. Worth not catastrophising too far in advance, even though the dread beforehand is real.

How much does breed or size actually affect how well a dog handles it, in your experience?

Hard to generalise, but our smaller dog coped noticeably better than a friend’s larger one on a similar route — purely anecdotal though.
