The vet says my dog is too big for the cabin, so it's cargo or a very expensive pet-relocation service, and the thought of him alone in the hold terrifies me. How did you weigh cabin vs cargo vs a specialist courier, and — honestly — how did your pet actually cope with the option you chose?

Went with a specialist pet-relocation courier despite the cost — worth it specifically for a larger dog who needed cargo either way regardless of which option we picked.

Our dog coped better than expected in cargo with proper crate training beforehand. Wanted to share a less scary data point since most stories skew toward the bad ones.
