Do you keep an account back home, and why?

Part of me wants to cut ties and go fully local, but I've kept my home-country account open for a few lingering direct debits, the odd payment, and a vague sense of a safety net. Is that just inertia, or a genuinely smart thing to keep? Curious what others do and whether keeping it has ever actually saved you.

Kept mine specifically for one recurring subscription that only accepts home-country cards. Otherwise it’s completely dormant.

Same, mostly inertia if I’m honest, but it hasn’t cost me anything to keep it open.

Closed mine eventually and didn’t miss it — felt like a genuinely good clean break once I was fully set up locally.
