Saudi Arabia's sports and leisure scene has transformed dramatically under Vision 2030. In 2026, Riyadh and Jeddah have world-class fitness facilities, international sports events (Formula 1, UFC, WWE, golf, tennis), and expanded outdoor recreation. The extreme summer heat limits outdoor activities to early morning and evening from May to September, but October to April is excellent for outdoor sports.

Residential compounds are the social hub for expat leisure — most large compounds have pools, gyms, tennis courts, and sports facilities. Public gyms and fitness chains have expanded rapidly under Vision 2030 — women's gyms became widely available from 2018. Riyadh has multiple cycling, running, and sports clubs. Volunteering
Volunteering is actively encouraged in Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030's social responsibility goals. The National Centre for Volunteering (Mutatawin) registers volunteers and organisations. Volunteering is popular among both Saudi nationals and expats — particularly in education, healthcare, and environmental sectors. Corporate volunteering (mandated by some large employers) is growing.
Tax Benefit
