International Social Security Agreements
Nigeria has limited social-security totalisation agreements. Most expats maintain home-country voluntary pension/NI contributions independently. Confirm with your home-country pension authority before discontinuing contributions during a Nigerian assignment.
Download RSA statements, PAYE evidence, HMO certificates and NSITF records from your employer before leaving Nigeria. Foreign workers in Nigeria may be exempt from certain payroll obligations under specific work-permit categories — confirm with a Nigeria tax/HR adviser.
