CIN (Carte d'Identité Nationale) — for Moroccan citizens only
The Moroccan national biometric identity card (CIN) with electronic chip. Used for e-government portal access, digital signatures, and authentication. Foreign nationals use passport + Carte de Séjour for all official identification — no equivalent digital ID for expats as of 2026.
How to get it: Available to Moroccan citizens only through the Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale (DGSN). Foreign nationals: use passport for all identification purposes. The Carte de Séjour issued to foreign residents contains biometric data but does not function as a digital authentication tool.
E-Government Portal
https://www.service.gov.maMorocco's e-government portal (service.gov.ma) provides good coverage of frequently needed services. Most prefectural and immigration procedures still require in-person attendance. DGI's online tax platform (tax.gov.ma) is functional and well-used by businesses. CNSS portal (cnss.ma) allows employees to check their contribution history, AMO status, and download CNSS documents — extremely useful for verifying your employer is paying correctly.

FreeMorocco's largest ride-hailing app. Book taxis, private cars, and Yassir XL (large vehicles). Yassir Express for food and grocery delivery. Available in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, Fez, Agadir. GPS-based pricing. Pay by card or cash.
Careem
FreeUber-owned ride-hailing service. Available in Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech. Alternative to Yassir for ride-hailing. Pay by card. Often has promotional pricing.
ONCF
FreeOfficial ONCF train booking app. Purchase tickets for all national trains including Al Boraq HSR. Reserve seats, track train status. Essential for regular Casablanca–Rabat or Casablanca–Tangier travel.
CTM
FreeCTM luxury bus booking app. Reserve seats on intercity coaches. Coverage to towns not served by rail. Better interface than website for mobile booking.
Glovo
FreeFood delivery app operating in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, and Tangier. Broad restaurant selection. Grocery delivery option (Glovo Express). Usually faster than Jumia in coverage.
Jumia Food
FreeJumia's food delivery service (Jumia is the pan-African e-commerce leader). Available in major Moroccan cities. Good selection of local Moroccan restaurants and international chains.

Inwi Money / Orange Money
FreeMobile money wallets. Inwi Money (for Inwi subscribers) and Orange Money (for Orange subscribers). P2P transfers, bill payments, merchant payments. Increasingly accepted at small shops and markets. Alternative to bank card for daily transactions.
M-Wallet (CMI)
FreeBank-linked mobile payment app operated by CMI (Centre Monétique Interbancaire). Links to your Moroccan bank account. QR code payments at accepting merchants. Growing acceptance particularly in Casablanca.
Maroc Telecom
FreeMaroc Telecom (IAM) customer app. Manage your account, check credit/data balance, top up, and view bills. Also access customer support. Essential for Maroc Telecom subscribers.
LYDEC / REDAL / AMENDIS apps
FreeUtility company apps for Casablanca (LYDEC), Rabat (REDAL), and other cities. Check bills, pay online, report outages, track consumption. Saves queuing at utility offices.
CNSS
FreeCNSS official app. Check your contribution history, CNSS number, AMO coverage status, and download attestations. Critical for verifying your employer is actually paying your social contributions.
Doctolib Maroc

FreeMorocco's largest classified ads platform. Buy/sell used goods, find apartments for rent, job listings, services. Essential for finding accommodation, furniture, and second-hand items at good prices.
The primary communication tool in Morocco for everything: personal messages, professional communication, groups for expat communities, landlord-tenant communication, doctor bookings, and even government office requests in some cases.
Morocco has solid internet infrastructure in major cities. 5G available in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, and Tangier as of 2026. Mobile data is affordable by global standards (1GB for ~5 MAD on prepaid). FTTH fibre internet at 50–200 Mbps from 200–500 MAD/month. VPN use: some streaming services are region-restricted from Morocco; VPN usage for personal purposes is common and technically legal, though grey area. Important: Morocco uses +212 country code; always include country code when sharing your number internationally. SIM cards require passport registration — bring original passport to any operator shop.
