Professional services in Cuba operate within a state-authorised framework. All service providers work through state enterprises, state-approved structures (Bufete Internacional, Cámara de Comercio) or TCP/MIPYMES licences since the 2021 reforms. Budget extra time for all engagements — Cuban bureaucracy is slow. Register with your home country embassy on arrival to access their approved service provider lists and emergency assistance. US bank cards (all networks) do not work in Cuba due to the US embargo — bring sufficient non-USD cash or European/Canadian cards.
Language options: Spanish is the working language for all professional services in Cuba. Bufete Internacional has English-speaking lawyers. ARGOS Translation Services covers major European languages. Outside Havana, English-speaking professionals are rare — bring a trusted Spanish interpreter for important meetings in provincial cities.
