How to call emergency services in Mozambique

Emergency response times can be slow, particularly outside Maputo. For medical emergencies, call Aga Khan Hospital (+258 21 481 100) or Maputo Medical Centre directly — they respond faster than the public system. Most expats keep International SOS (+258 21 324 255) as their primary medevac contact. The tourist police (Polícia de Turismo) operate in tourist areas and may be more accessible.
