Puerto Rico's digital infrastructure follows US federal standards. Liberty Puerto Rico and Claro are the main fixed broadband ISPs. T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon all cover PR — T-Mobile has the widest LTE network on the island. Mobile connectivity is generally good in urban areas but patchy in the mountainous interior (Jayuya, Utuado). After hurricanes, mobile connectivity can be severely disrupted — keep a battery-powered AM/FM radio and a solar charger as backup. FEMA wireless emergency alerts are broadcast to all cell phones on PR networks.
