National ID / Nagarik App ecosystem
Nepal's digital identity system is primarily for citizens. The Nagarik app gives Nepali citizens access to government certificates and services. Foreign residents rely on passport, visa, PAN (Permanent Account Number) and bank KYC for all services.
How to get it: Foreigners cannot access citizen-only features. Register for a PAN at the Inland Revenue Department (ird.gov.np) — required for employment, business and tax filing in Nepal.
