Belarus (BY)
A highly centralised Eastern European country with Soviet-era urban planning, low local costs, strong public transport, good basic infrastructure, sanctions-affected banking, strict migration registration and a complex risk profile for foreign residents.
Visa & Immigration
Entry and residence options for Belarus.
✈️ Visa-Free Access
Belarus visa-free rules are route- and nationality-specific. Many airport arrivals can use up to 30 days visa-free if not travelling from/to Russia; several European nationalities have temporary visa-free access through 31 December 2026, commonly up to 30 days per entry and 90 days per calendar year. Always verify with Belarus MFA/embassy before travel.
Do not mix Belarus visa-free rules with Russia travel without checking. Russia-Belarus border/visa recognition rules are complex and changed recently; e-visas/visa-free may not cover Russia routes.
