The Reforma Pensional (pension reform) is the most structurally significant change of 2026. Any worker earning ≤ 2.3 SMMLV (~COP $3.27M) now must contribute their entire pension to Colpensiones, which changes retirement planning for lower earners. The reform remains controversial and may face further legal or political challenges — monitor Corte Constitucional rulings. DIAN is increasing digital enforcement of tax compliance; ensure your RUT is up to date and all income sources declared.
