eObčanka (Electronic ID Card)
The Czech electronic ID card (občanský průkaz with chip) functions as a digital identity for signing documents, accessing government services, and authenticating online. The NIA (National Identity Authority) manages the authentication infrastructure. Portál občana (portal.gov.cz) is the main citizen portal.
How to get it: Czech citizens receive the electronic ID at the municipal office. Requires setting a PIN for the chip. The Mobilní klíč eGov app (available on iOS and Android) allows using your identity on your smartphone without the physical card reader. Foreigners with Czech residence permits can access some services through NIA authentication via other means.
E-Government Portal
https://portal.gov.czCzech e-government is well-developed and expanding rapidly. Datová schránka (data mailbox) is mandatory for all businesses and increasingly used for government-citizen communication. Identity authentication uses NIA (National Identity Authority) — login via Mobilní klíč eGov, eObčanka chip, or bank identity (BankID). BankID (available from major Czech banks) is a user-friendly way to authenticate to government portals using your banking app.

FreeOfficial app for managing datová schránka (data mailbox) — mandatory for all businesses. Send and receive official government correspondence electronically. Essential for any self-employed person or company.
Portál občana
FreeCentral Czech citizen portal accessed via web and mobile. Services: view personal data, submit applications, access social security information, health records, and more. Login via BankID, NIA, or eObčanka.
PID Lítačka
FreeOfficial Prague Integrated Transport app for purchasing tickets, monthly passes, and managing your transit account. Buy tickets, validate journeys on select lines, and show digital passes. Works on iPhone and Android.

VZP Mobilní aplikace

Waze / Google Maps

Heureka / Zboží.cz
FreeCzech price comparison platforms for online shopping. Heureka.cz is the dominant price comparison and review platform. Zboží.cz is the Seznam.cz equivalent. Both extensively used before any significant purchase.
BankID
FreeBank Identity — authenticate to government portals and financial services using your Czech bank credentials. Supported by Česká spořitelna, KB, ČSOB, Raiffeisenbank, and others. Easiest way for most residents to access Portál občana.
Datová schránka (data mailbox) is central to Czech digital government and mandatory for all businesses (právnické osoby and živnostníci). Register immediately on getting your živnostenský list. All official government correspondence to businesses is sent exclusively to the datová schránka — check it regularly. Messages are legally equivalent to registered mail and deadlines run from delivery notification. Free at mojedatovaschranka.cz. Individuals can register voluntarily. Czech e-government authentication increasingly uses BankID (bank-based login) as the easiest method for both citizens and long-term residents.
