Foreign visitors may drive in Fiji on their valid home-country licence for up to 6 months. For long-term residents, the licence must be converted through the Land Transport Authority (LTA). Bring your original licence, a certified English translation if the original is not in English, and a driving history letter for insurance and LTA conversion purposes. Fiji drives on the left.
Fiji has strict biosecurity requirements for pet imports. Dogs and cats require an import permit from the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF), a microchip, current rabies vaccination certificate, a veterinary health certificate and — for pets from non-approved countries — a post-entry isolation period. Begin preparations at least 3 months before travel and contact BAF for current approved-country status.
📜 What is an Apostille?
An apostille is an official certification that validates a document for international use. It is issued by a designated authority in the country where the document was issued (usually a court or government office). Required for documents from Hague Convention member states.
🌍 Certified Translations
Certified translations must be done by a sworn/authorised translator. In Fiji, only translations by officially registered translators are accepted by government offices. Keep originals — they may be returned after verification.
