Social Security in Fiji

Fiji main social-security pillar is the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), a defined-contribution provident fund for retirement and certain approved withdrawals. It is not a European-style unemployment/health insurance system.

Contribution Overview
FNPF compulsory contribution is 18% total: 8% employee and 10% employer, remitted by the employer.
International Social Security Agreements
FNPF is a national provident fund and generally does not integrate like EU social-security totalisation. Check your home-country pension separately.
A work permit does not guarantee welfare access. Keep private emergency savings and insurance.
