Eligibility
Non-Nordic foreign nationals who have held lawful residence in Greenland for 7 years (work or study route) or 3 years (family reunification route) may apply for permanent residence through the Danish SIRI system. Permits are Greenland-specific — a Danish mainland permanent residence permit does not automatically cover Greenland.

Children born to at least one Danish-citizen parent acquire Danish citizenship at birth, regardless of the country of birth. This applies equally to children of Danish-citizen parents living in Greenland.
