Digital Services
Digital ID, e-government and essential apps in Monaco.
MC-ID — Monaco Digital Identity
Monaco's digital identity system (MC-ID) launched under the Monaco digital transition programme. Allows Monaco residents to authenticate online for e-government services through a secure digital credential linked to their Monaco residence card. In 2026, MC-ID is operational for Monégasque nationals and progressively rolling out to long-term resident cardholders (Ordinary and Privileged carte de résident).
How to get it: Contact the Direction Informatique de la Principauté or enquire at the Mairie de Monaco (Service des Résidents). Requires: Monaco residence card (Ordinary or Privileged tier preferred), valid email address, and smartphone for authenticator setup. Enrolment conducted in person at the Mairie. Once activated, MC-ID can be used to access monservicepublic.mc.
E-Government Portal
https://www.monservicepublic.mcMonaco's e-government is progressing but smaller in scope than large nations — the Principality's small population (38,000 residents) means many services are still handled effectively in person, given the short distances involved. The Mairie de Monaco and Sûreté Publique are typically reachable within 10 minutes by foot — e-government complements rather than replaces the personal service culture.
