Visa-Free Access

GCC nationals (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar) have free movement. Citizens of approximately 50+ countries including UK, USA, EU member states, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and most Western nations receive a free 30-day visa on arrival (extendable to 60 days). Always check the ICP website for the current list as it changes.

UAE visa categories are complex and change frequently. Free zones (DIFC, ADGM, Dubai Internet City, Jebel Ali, etc.) have separate visa structures from mainland. Always verify current requirements on the ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security) website: icp.gov.ae. Visa violations carry AED 100/day fines. The UAE deports overstayers and may issue entry bans. Golden Visa (10-year) is available for investors, exceptional talents, professionals, and outstanding students.

Investor / Partner Visa

Digital Nomad

Eligibility

Remote workers employed by a foreign company earning minimum USD 5,000/month (approximately AED 18,365) — raised from USD 3,500 by a joint ICP/GDRFA circular that took full effect in late April 2026

Processing time

5–7 working days for initial approval; then 60 days to enter UAE and complete medical fitness test and Emirates ID biometrics.

Requirements

✓Employment contract with foreign employer OR proof of business ownership outside UAE
✓Salary proof (minimum USD 5,000/month from foreign sources, raised from USD 3,500 in April 2026)
✓Health insurance valid in UAE with minimum AED 500,000 coverage per person (UAE-approved provider)

✓Bank statements (last 6 months showing consistent income — doubled from 3 months under the April 2026 rule change)
✓Employment or company-ownership evidence legalised/apostilled abroad and attested in the UAE — self-declared letters no longer accepted as of April 2026

💡 One of the world's first dedicated remote work visas. Launched in 2021 by GDRFA Dubai; now administered federally by ICP. Allows working remotely for non-UAE companies while living in the UAE. Full access to UAE banking, Emirates ID, and services. Does not allow working for UAE-based clients without a separate work permit. A joint ICP/GDRFA circular issued January 2026 and fully in force by late April 2026 raised the income floor, extended the bank-statement window, increased required insurance cover, and tightened document attestation — verify current requirements at icp.gov.ae.
