Citizens of EU/EEA countries, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and most GCC nationals can obtain a visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport and land borders. Cost: JD 40 (single entry, 30 days). The Jordan Pass (purchased online before arrival) includes the visa fee plus entry to 40+ attractions including Petra.

All residence permits are processed at the Department of Residency and Borders Affairs (DRBA) in Amman and major cities. For employer-sponsored workers, your employer's PRO (Public Relations Officer) or HR department typically handles most paperwork. Overstaying a visa incurs fines of JD 1.50 per day — pay at departure to avoid future entry complications. Jordan does not have a points-based or skill-worker fast-track equivalent to European systems; work permits remain employer-tied.

Jordan does not have an official digital nomad visa or formal remote-work scheme as of 2026. A pilot remote-work programme discussed circa 2022 was never formally launched.
