DigiD
DigiD (Digitale Identiteit) is the Dutch government's digital authentication system. It allows citizens and residents to securely identify themselves to government agencies and healthcare providers online. Required for virtually all Dutch e-government services.
How to get it: Apply at digid.nl — requires a BSN, Dutch address, and a Dutch mobile phone number (or wait for an activation letter). The DigiD app (higher security level) can be activated with a BSN and ID card or passport at a DigiD activation point.
