Payment Culture
Cyprus has good card acceptance in cities and tourist areas. Contactless payment is widely used in supermarkets, restaurants and hotels. However, smaller villages, local markets and some independent shops still prefer cash. Always carry €20–30 in cash as backup.
ATM Tips
ATMs are widely available in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos. Bank of Cyprus and Hellenic Bank ATMs are most common. Foreign card fees: €2–4 per withdrawal. Use Revolut or Wise to avoid fees.
