Pakistan does not publish a national banned-breeds list. Airline, gated-society, cantonment, and housing rules may restrict or prohibit specific breeds.

📋 Relocation Process

1. Implant ISO 11784/11785 microchip. 2. Vaccinate for rabies at least 30 days before travel. 3. Obtain an international veterinary health certificate from a licensed vet in the origin country — must be issued within 7 days of arrival in Pakistan, include microchip number, vaccination dates and batch numbers, antiparasitic treatments, health attestation, and a declaration that the pet does not come from a rabies-restricted area. 4. Apply for import permit through the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) electronic system (psw.gov.pk) via the Animal Quarantine Department. 5. Book IATA-compliant airline cargo. 6. On arrival, present all original documents to the Animal Quarantine Department for inspection.

Pakistan heat, ticks, street dogs, limited emergency veterinary capacity, and apartment/cantonment restrictions make advance planning essential. Avoid importing brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds during hot months. Gated communities and cantonment boards often have their own pet rules that are stricter than national import requirements — check before shipping.
