Ukraine social security is contribution-based and residence/status-based. Foreigners working locally may build insured periods through employer SSC, while remote workers and short-stay foreigners often remain outside most Ukrainian benefits.

Contribution Overview
Employers generally pay 22% SSC on payroll base. Employees pay PIT 18% and military levy 5% from salary. FOPs/self-employed have their own single tax, military levy, and SSC obligations.

Ukraine has social-security/pension agreements with selected countries. Check whether your home country has an agreement before counting on portability.
