Register with a local veterinary clinic after arrival. Yerevan has English-speaking clinics; ask expat groups for current recommendations. Keep up tick and parasite prevention — ticks and stray-dog encounters are common.

📋 Relocation Process

1. Complete rabies vaccination at least 21 days before travel. Microchipping is strongly recommended (not legally required) and the chip number should appear on all documentation if present. 2. Obtain official veterinary health certificate — must be endorsed by your country's government veterinary authority and issued within 5 days of travel (short window). 3. Dogs must be at least 6 months old at time of entry. Up to 5 pets per person permitted without special import permits; more than 2 requires additional import procedures. 4. Check airline and transit-country rules — EU, Turkey, and Gulf routing adds document requirements. 5. On arrival, present health certificate and vaccination records to veterinary inspection.

Armenia does not require microchipping, but it is strongly recommended for identification and re-export purposes. The 5-day health certificate validity window is unusually short — do not obtain the certificate more than 5 days before your flight. Yerevan apartments frequently restrict pets; confirm written landlord permission before committing to a lease.
