✈️ Visa-Free Access
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens have full right of free movement and do not need a visa. Citizens of the following countries may visit Estonia and the Schengen Area visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180 days: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, and approximately 60 other countries. Full updated list at vm.ee (Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs). As of late 2025/2026, the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) requires biometric registration for non-EU/EEA nationals crossing Schengen borders — expect queues at Tallinn Airport.
Estonia is a Schengen Area member — a single entry stamp covers all 27 Schengen countries. Applications are processed by the Police and Border Guard Board (Politsei- ja Piirivalveamet, PPA) — ppa.ee. Apply online via ppa.ee or in person at PPA service bureau. EU citizens: simply register your residence in the Population Register — no formal permit needed. For all immigration questions: ppa.ee or the PPA helpline +372 612 3000. Important: e-Residency (e-residentsus) is a digital identity programme for non-residents running EU businesses — it is NOT a visa, residency permit, or right to stay in Estonia. Many people confuse these.
Short-Stay Schengen Visa (C Visa)
Nationals of countries that require a Schengen visa for short stays (Russia, Belarus, China, India, and others)

EU Blue Card (Estonia)
Blue CardNon-EU highly qualified workers with job offer meeting salary threshold. Salary must be at least 1.5× the average gross salary (~€3,500+/month in 2026).
