🐕 Dog Tax / Registration

No national annual dog tax. Condominiums and municipalities may impose registration, leash, noise, or dangerous-dog rules.

Register with a private veterinarian soon after arrival for vaccine record conversion, tick/flea prevention and emergency contacts.

📋 Relocation Process

Check SENACSA import requirements, obtain a veterinary health certificate shortly before travel, ensure rabies vaccination is valid, secure airline approval, carry originals and Spanish translations where possible, and register with a local vet after arrival.

Heat, ticks, leishmaniasis risk in parts of the region, street dogs and limited emergency veterinary care outside Asuncion are the main practical issues. Never ship a pet during peak summer heat without airline confirmation.
