IESS-registered formal employees may access subsidised daycare through the IESS system. Eligibility depends on employment and IESS contribution status.

Curriculum types available: IB (International Baccalaureate), US, British, Canadian, French (Lycee), German (Deutsche Schule) and Montessori. Annual tuition ranges from USD 5,000-15,000 at private bilingual schools to USD 15,000-30,000 at premium international schools (International School of Ecuador, King's College, US dollar Academy). Add one-off inscription fees (USD 500-2,000) and capital fees (USD 1,000-5,000 at some schools). Application tip: apply January-March for August school-year start; request the full fee schedule in writing before accepting a place; check school bus routes before signing a lease — Quito traffic can add 45-90 minutes per direction.
🎓 University
Institution-specific entrance exams, documents and credential validation. Foreign transcripts require apostille/legalisation and certified Spanish translation. Ministerio de Educacion / SENESCYT recognition letter may be required for foreign secondary diplomas before university admission.
