🏛️ Social Contributions
Employees no longer pay a direct cotisation maladie (abolished 2018); financed largely by CSG and employer. Self-employed pay via URSSAF.
Broad social contribution on earned and replacement income. Financing Assurance Maladie, family benefits, pensions. Partially deductible from income tax.
Levied on almost all income to repay the social debt. Non-deductible.
State basic pension (CNAV) + mandatory complementary pension (AGIRC-ARRCO). PASS 2026: €47,100/year — the Plafond annuel de la Sécurité sociale.
Entirely employer-funded since 2018. Funds France Travail benefits (ARE).

Régime des impatriés (Article 155 B CGI): for employees and managers moving to France after 5+ years abroad. Up to 50% of salary linked to the "impat bonus" can be exempt from income tax, plus exemption of certain foreign-source passive income (dividends, capital gains). Applies for up to 8 years. Negotiate with employer before signing the contrat.
