Payment Culture
Qatar is increasingly cashless — contactless card payments are widely accepted in malls, restaurants, and supermarkets. The QAR is pegged to the USD at 3.64 QAR = 1 USD, so the exchange rate is fixed and stable. Carry some cash for local souqs, taxis, and small shops.
ATM Tips
ATMs are plentiful in malls, petrol stations, and commercial areas. QNB, Commercial Bank, and Doha Bank ATMs are most common. Foreign card fees: typically QAR 5–15 per withdrawal.
