✈️ Visa-Free Access
Andorra is not Schengen and has no independent visa regime — all entry is through France or Spain. EU/EEA/Swiss nationals and citizens of countries with Schengen visa-free access can enter Andorra freely for short stays. Non-Schengen nationals holding a valid multi-entry Schengen visa or residence permit can enter Andorra as a day trip or short stay but note: returning from Andorra to France/Spain counts as a re-entry into Schengen — ensure your visa allows re-entry (multi-entry). Nationalities with direct visa-free access to Schengen include: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and most Latin American countries.
Andorra has no independent visa policy — all arrivals come via France or Spain. There are no passport stamps at the Andorran border. Andorra is NOT Schengen, so time spent in Andorra does NOT count toward or against your 90-day Schengen allowance — however, every time you leave Andorra back into France or Spain, you are re-entering Schengen. Non-EU nationals on single-entry Schengen visas cannot make day trips to Andorra without re-entry permission. Andorra does not issue tourist visas — short stays are governed by the Schengen rules of the bordering country you entered through. Permanent residency (Residència permanent) is available after 20 years of continuous authorised residence — very long compared to most European countries. Andorran citizenship requires 20 years of residency for non-nationals (3 years for spouses of Andorran nationals). EU association agreement negotiations ongoing as of 2026 — watch for changes to residency rules in coming years.
Active Residency — Employee
Foreign nationals who have secured a job offer from an Andorran employer. EU/EEA nationals have preferential access. Non-EU/EEA nationals require the employer to demonstrate the position could not be filled by an Andorran or existing resident.

Researchers, artists, and professional athletes contracted by Andorran institutions or sports clubs. Requires sponsorship from an Andorran institution.

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient income (minimum approximately 300% of the Andorran minimum wage — approximately EUR 3,000+/month net) and must not work for Andorran employers or clients.
8–16 weeks via the Immigration Service of Andorra
