🌍 Special Expat Tax Rules
The elected tax cap (£200,000/year for individuals, £400,000 for couples) makes the IoM attractive for high-net-worth residents. There is no capital gains tax and no inheritance tax. IoM tax residence is distinct from UK tax residence — UK statutory residence test rules do not automatically apply.
📋 Double Tax Treaties
The Isle of Man has its own DTA network separate from the UK's, covering income tax and social security. Arrangements exist with many countries; verify whether your home-country treaty covers IoM specifically, as some treaties cover the UK but not IoM.
