Blue Mountains National Park (UNESCO): extensive hiking trails from 4WD-accessible roads to multi-day routes up Peak (2,256m). Reach Falls, Dunn's River, YS Falls and Mayfield Falls offer guided waterfall hikes. Diving: Negril coral reef, Montego Bay Marine Park, Port Royal shipwrecks. Surfing: Boston Bay (Portland) and some breaks in St. Ann.
Public swimming pools are limited. The National Aquatic Centre in Kingston is the main competitive facility. Most expats use hotel or club pools. The University Hospital complex and UWI campus have limited pool access.
Volunteering
Volunteering is culturally valued in Jamaica, particularly through churches, community organisations and NGOs. Many international NGOs have a Jamaican presence. Professional skills in healthcare, education, business development and technology are in demand.
