Visa-Free Access

Citizens of the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, most EU member states, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and most Commonwealth nations do not require a visa to enter Jamaica for tourism and short stays (typically up to 6 months). CARICOM member state nationals also enter visa-free. Citizens of over 120 countries can visit without a visa. Check with PICA (Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency) or your nearest Jamaican embassy for your specific nationality.

Jamaica's immigration authority is PICA (Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency) at pica.gov.jm. Expats on visitor permits must not work — even for foreign employers while physically in Jamaica — without obtaining proper authorisation. Jamaica does not currently offer a dedicated digital nomad or freelancer visa (2026). Remote workers on extended stays should seek immigration and tax advice. The CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) provides free movement of certain skilled categories of workers from CARICOM member states. Jamaica is a member of CARICOM and this right applies. Extensions to visitor permits should be requested at PICA's offices before your current stamp expires.
