MPower — Portalul Guvernamental al Cetățeanului
MPower (mpower.gov.md) is Moldova's national digital citizen portal and mobile app. It uses your IDNP as the authentication key and provides access to government services, document status tracking, electronic signatures and payments. The associated mobile app (MPower) allows citizens to pay taxes, renew licences, check fines and access e-government services from a phone.
How to get it: Download the MPower app (iOS/Android) and register with your IDNP, mobile phone number and the one-time PIN sent to your registered number. You must already have an IDNP (assigned on BMA registration) to access the portal. For enhanced access to sensitive services, you may need to verify your identity at an ASP office or via your MAIB/MIB online banking credentials (mobile ID).
E-Government Portal
https://gov.mdMoldova's digital government is advancing rapidly as part of EU accession requirements. The MPower app is the single most useful digital service for daily administration. Many government services still require in-person visits for the first registration; subsequent renewals are increasingly digital. Romanian is the interface language for most portals; some have partial Russian versions.

Moldova has one of the fastest internet connections in Europe at the residential level — fibre optic is widely available in Chișinău at MDL 150–280/month. Mobile data is excellent: Orange Moldova and Unite offer 4G+ nationally. Get a Moldovan SIM within the first week (available at any Orange, Moldtelecom or Unite shop with your passport). SIM registration requires passport but no IDNP — you can get a SIM on day 1.
