✈️ Visa-Free Access
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens have full freedom of movement and do not require a visa to enter, live, and work in Poland. As a Schengen member, Poland also allows visa-free entry from many countries for short stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Countries with bilateral visa-free agreements for short stays include: USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, UK (up to 6 months), and most Latin American countries. Ukraine crisis: since 2022, Ukrainians have special status (UKR) allowing up to 3 years residence and work rights without standard permit procedures — this may have updated conditions in 2026. Always check current rules at the Urząd do Spraw Cudzoziemców (Office for Foreigners) website: cudzoziemcy.gov.pl. Voivodeship offices (Urząd Wojewódzki) handle all residence permit applications — book appointments early as wait times can reach months. Online appointment booking available in most voivodeships.
National Visa (Type D)
Non-EU citizens intending to stay in Poland longer than 90 days for work, study, family reunion, or other purposes

No Dedicated Digital Nomad Visa (Poland)
Digital NomadPoland has no dedicated digital nomad visa as of 2026. EU/EEA citizens can live and work remotely in Poland freely without any permit — register at Urząd Wojewódzki for stays over 3 months. Non-EU remote workers must apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (Zezwolenie na pobyt czasowy) under the self-employment or employment category.
EU/EEA registration: up to 30 working days. Non-EU Temporary Residence Permit: 1–6 months at Urząd Wojewódzki.
- ✓EU/EEA nationals: valid passport or national ID; register at Urząd Wojewódzki for stays over 3 months
- ✓Non-EU self-employment: registered business entity in Poland (sp. z o.o. or jednoosobowa działalność); proof of income; valid passport; health insurance

EU Blue Card
