QRP holders may import personal effects, a vehicle and a boat duty-free on first arrival and are exempt from Belizean income tax on foreign-source income. QRP status contributes to the lawful residence history needed for permanent residency (PR) and eventual naturalisation, but QRP itself is not a stand-alone PR or citizenship route. Verify the current programme fee directly with the Belize Tourism Board as it can change.
